Singkawang (ANTARA) -

The Class 1 Singkawang Immigration Office in West Kalimantan has apprehended two foreign nationals—one from China and one from Pakistan—for violating Indonesian immigration laws.

“These two individuals, identified as LZ, a Chinese citizen, and BK, a Pakistani citizen, were detained for visa-related violations,” said Head of Intelligence and Enforcement at the Singkawang Class 1 Immigration Office, Achmad Aswira, in Singkawang on Wednesday.

The arrests took place at separate locations: LZ was apprehended in Bengkayang District, while BK was detained in the Singkawang Barat Sub-district.

“We plan to deport both individuals to their respective countries on Thursday, September 4,” Aswira confirmed.

According to the investigation, LZ was found to have deliberately misused his residence permit by engaging in activities inconsistent with the stated purpose of his stay.

This constitutes a clear violation of Article 122(a) of Law Number 6 of 2011 on Immigration, which prohibits foreigners from intentionally misusing their residence permits.

As a result, LZ will face the highest level of administrative action under immigration law: deportation.

BK, meanwhile, is suspected of working and conducting activities in Indonesia without a valid visa or residence permit.

The investigation revealed that he lacked both a legal entry visa and a valid permit to reside or work in the country.

This constitutes a violation of Article 8 of Law Number 6 of 2011 on Immigration, which requires all foreign nationals to possess valid documentation for entry and stay.

“For BK, the legal action taken will also be deportation—the highest administrative sanction under immigration law,” Aswira stated.
