"Today, all transportation activities in Jakarta are back to normal. This includes the bus stops at Polda Metro Jaya, Mandiri, and Istora, and everything is back to normal," he announced on Monday.
With the return of public transportation services, he also informed about the reinstatement of TransJakarta and MRT fares.
Previously, the regional government had waived TransJakarta and MRT fares for a week due to the repair work.
"Today, the fares have returned to normal," Pramono said.
On the occasion, he expressed his hope that the restoration of public transportation services would also bring daily community life back to normal.
The governor also asked the community to work together to protect the city.
Meanwhile, TransJakarta President Director Welfizon Yuza stated that public activities have now returned to normal.
"Including during the last working day of last week, Thursday, TransJakarta's daily passenger numbers returned to 1.3 million. This showed that economic conditions and mobility have fully returned to normal," Yuza said.
Although all damaged bus stops have been repaired, he informed that some of TransJakarta services have not fully returned to normal.
Therefore, his office has prepared alternative ways to get off and transit for the convenience of passengers.
"We have prepared two transit alternatives. The Transportation Agency has set up a pelican crossing, and while the pedestrian bridge is not yet in use, we are also providing a special shuttle connecting the Senen Toyota Rangga Bus Stop with the Jaga Jakarta Bus Stop," he remarked.
Earlier, Pramono reported that infrastructure damage from the demonstrations amounted to Rp55 billion (US$3.2 million). The damage affected two Jakarta Regional-Owned Enterprises (BUMD)—PT TransJakarta and PT MRT Jakarta—as well as several surveillance cameras installed throughout the city.
To address the damage, the administration is utilizing contingency funds allocated in the Regional Budget (APBD). "Regarding budget utilization, we have requested assistance from the Head of the High Prosecutor’s Office. We are using contingency funds," he confirmed.
