Jakarta (ANTARA) - Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Minister Rini Widyantini and Youth and Sports Minister Erick Thohir plan to boost bureaucracy reform that responds to the needs of the younger generation while supporting an achievement-oriented sports ecosystem.

“Today’s meeting (September 24) is an opportunity to strengthen synergy between the ministries in building a better bureaucracy. The role of youth and sports as drivers of national advancement must be continuously optimized,” Widyantini said in the ministry's statement here on Thursday.

She highlighted positive progress in bureaucratic reform and performance accountability at the Ministry of Youth and Sports in 2024 compared to previous years.

The Bureaucratic Reform Index reached 80.35 with an A- rating, while the Government Agency Performance Accountability System (SAKIP) scored 68.08 with a B rating.

Despite these improvements, she said that there is still room for enhancement, especially regarding Integrity Zone development, which has yet to show significant results.

The Ministry of Youth and Sports is said to have maintained good governance, showing consistency in core bureaucratic aspects such as structural simplification, work systems, budget management, and digitalization of archives and public services.

The ministry also supports thematic reform priorities like poverty alleviation, government digitalization, investment growth, use of domestic products, and inflation control, which could be further optimized.

Minister Widyantini encouraged the Youth and Sports Ministry to focus on Procurement Governance Index, Public Service Standard Compliance, Recommendation Follow-ups, and Public Satisfaction Surveys.

She also urged the ministry to build Integrity Zones as an effort to realize clean and service-oriented bureaucracy aligned with national development goals, including poverty reduction, investment growth, industry downstreaming, health and education, and food security.
