Indonesia will host the 2025 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships at Indonesia Arena, Jakarta, from October 19 to 25, 2025.
“I believe this event will be very positive for Indonesia, especially for young gymnasts, as we will inspire them through this competition,” Juliati said at a press conference at Indonesia Arena here on Saturday.
One concrete step taken is the purchase of gymnastics equipment instead of renting it, she noted.
“After this event, we will donate the equipment to all provinces as a contribution. I believe gymnastics will not develop well without adequate facilities,” she explained.
She added that the 2025 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships will differ from other world championships because it will pay special attention to children and senior visitors.
“We will have two fun zones, one for children and another for seniors. In collaboration with FIG, Fujitsu, and ESSA, we are developing an artificial intelligence program to detect and prevent aging,” she said.
President of the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG), Morinari Watanabe, is also optimistic that this championship will leave a positive legacy for gymnastics in Indonesia.
This championship could become a major leap forward for gymnastics in Indonesia, he remarked.
“With a population of 300 million, the potential is huge. Gymnastics is one of the best sports for young people. This event will leave an extraordinary legacy here,” Watanabe said.
Indonesia will send eight athletes to compete in the 2025 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in Jakarta, namely Joseph Judah Hatugoan, Agung Suci Tantio Akbar, Abiyu Raffi, Muhammad Aprizal, Satria Tri Wira Yudha, Alarice Mallica Prakoso, Salsabilla Hadi Pamungkas, and Larasati Rengganis.
