"Technology must encourage innovation and create opportunities across the country," she said at the Tech in Asia Conference 2025 here on Wednesday.
According to her, opportunities in the technology sector and digital economy continue to expand.
In this regard, the value of Indonesia's digital economy stood at around US$90 million gross merchandise value (GMV) in 2024 and is projected to increase to US$210 billion-US$360 billion by 2030.
The growth, she continued, is encouraged by the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) technology in various sectors, such as finance, logistics, health, and the creative industry, as well as collaboration with global companies.
"This is a clear signal that technology and our digital ecosystem are growing rapidly," she said.
To this end, the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs continues to bolster the national digital transformation agenda by launching the Garuda Spark Innovation Hub –a platform that connects founders, startups, innovators, and industry stakeholders across Indonesia.
So far, the ministry has launched the first two hubs in Bandung and Jakarta and will open two additional hubs in Aceh and Medan before the end of 2025.
She explained that, through Garuda Spark, the ministry aims to create two million new technology entrepreneurs who are expected to foster Indonesia's digital transformation going forward.
Garuda Spark is also integrated with Hub.ID Connection Hub and Startup Indonesia Dashboard, which strengthen the national digital ecosystem by connecting startups, investors, and global corporations through an integrated database and mentoring program.
"This reflects our belief that when information is connected, people are also connected, and when people are connected, innovation will grow," she remarked.
