Jakarta (ANTARA) - The State Logistics Agency (Bulog) has ensured that national rice stocks remain secure for the 2025 Christmas and 2026 New Year celebrations, with reserves reaching more than 3.8 million tons across Indonesia.

Bulog Deputy President Director Marga Taufiq emphasized that the current stock is more than sufficient to meet public demand during the year-end holidays.

"It is more than enough. We still have over 3.8 million tons of government rice reserves (CBP)," he said in Jakarta on Wednesday.

Bulog has also prepared anticipatory measures to ensure smooth rice distribution to various regions despite rising demand ahead of the Christmas and New Year festivities, he added.

According to Marga, Bulog serves as a national food operator that is always ready to implement government directives to maintain the resilience and stability of rice supplies.

Meanwhile, Bulog Director of Procurement Prihasto Setyanto said the current rice stock is the highest in the agency’s history since its establishment.

"Bulog is ready to release rice from its warehouses whenever needed, especially under direct government instruction to maintain market price stability," he affirmed.

Setyanto added that through collaboration with the government and relevant parties, Bulog is committed to maintaining a secure rice supply so that people can celebrate Christmas and New Year with peace and certainty.

In addition to maintaining stock availability, Bulog continues to optimize distribution through the Food Supply and Price Stabilization (SPHP) program to ensure stable rice prices in the market.
