The prestigious award, usually reserved for kings, princes, heads of state, and occasionally prime ministers, recognizes extraordinary contributions at national, regional, or international levels, including those by civilians and military personnel.
During the ceremony, King Abdullah II draped the medal over President Prabowo’s right shoulder.
The two leaders then shook hands and embraced, marking a moment of mutual respect and friendship.
Foreign Minister Sugiono described the award as a recognition of the president’s achievements and a source of pride for Indonesia.
“It is a form of recognition, and I believe it is also a source of pride for us that the President received it,” he said.

In bilateral talks, Prabowo highlighted the longstanding relationship between Indonesia and Jordan, which dates back 74 years to October 1951.
He also recalled his personal connection with the late King Hussein bin Talal, who received him warmly more than two decades ago.
The Indonesian government aims to expand cooperation and strengthen ties amid global geopolitical challenges.
“We want to work more closely with you and thank you for hosting many of our young trainees in Jordan,” Prabowo said.
King Abdullah II reaffirmed Jordan’s solidarity with Indonesia and praised his personal friendship with the president.
“I am proud and honored to be here, proud to call you an old friend. I know that in our discussions tonight and tomorrow, there are many new opportunities to strengthen the ties between Indonesia and Jordan,” he said.
The ceremony underscores Indonesia and Jordan’s enduring diplomatic, cultural, and strategic partnership while opening avenues for future collaboration.
