Speaking at the third session of the G20 Summit in Johannesburg on Sunday, he said Indonesia continues downstreaming efforts to strengthen domestic industry.
"We build industry at home and invest in downstream transformation, and ensure our people benefit from their own natural wealth," he remarked.
Gibran said Indonesia remains open to equitable cooperation, including investment, technology transfer, and responsible management of critical minerals.
"It requires leadership and cooperation to ensure this new industrial revolution lifts all nations, not only a few," he emphasized.
He stressed that global leadership is essential to build a fair future, adding that Indonesia is ready to work with G20 members to make the grouping a bridge between innovation and inclusion, as well as progress and justice.
He reiterated Indonesia's readiness to collaborate so the AI industrial revolution benefits all nations.
"Indonesia believes that the future must be built on justice: justice in how we govern new technologies, justice in how we use natural resources, and justice for our workers," he remarked.
Gibran also expressed hope that the G20 will reinforce its commitment to a more inclusive and just global system.
The summit took place in Johannesburg on November 22–23 under South Africa’s presidency, themed "Solidarity, Equality, Sustainability."
