Sirait made the statement while attending the mass signing of Housing Payment Liquidity Facility (FLPP) and subsidized housing mortgages and key handover at Banten Indah Housing, here on Saturday.
According to the minister, accessibility is reflected in highly affordable financing schemes, allowing a range of professions, from educators, domestic workers (ART), to small traders, to own homes.
“Installments from Bank BTN with a 20-year tenor are only Rp1.1 million. The down payment is just 1 percent, and the Land and Building Acquisition Fee (BPHTB) is waived. This is very good,” Sirait explained.
During a dialogue with residents, he praised the success of the subsidy program in reaching segments of society previously unable to access banking services.
One resident, Mahfud, an administrative staff member at a vocational school, said the government incentives greatly helped him realize his dream of owning a home.
“I’m extremely happy. This is my dream home. I used to move frequently and live in temporary rentals. Besides the low installments, the location is flood-free and secure,” Mahfud told the minister.
Sirait added that the government’s priority to ease housing access has proven effective, achieving the highest record for subsidized housing distribution in history.
“Today, 266 thousand units have been distributed. The previous highest was in 2023 with 229 thousand units from the FLPP program initiated in 2010. This success is thanks to the support of banks, developers, and consumers,” he pointed out.
Previously, he said that the housing KUR scheme provides a significant multiplier effect, particularly for small business actors who have long been the backbone of housing development activities in various regions.
Business turnover in the building materials sector, construction services, and daily labor absorption has increased alongside easier access to financing for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
