Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources stated that gas station services in flood- and landslide-hit Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra have reached nearly a 100 percent recovery rate.

Head of the National Command Post for the Energy and Mineral Resources Sector, Erika Retnowati, said post-disaster recovery was a top priority during the command post’s monitoring period for the 2025 Christmas and 2026 New Year holidays.

“We continue to strive for optimal fuel distribution to the public through intensive coordination with all stakeholders,” she said in Jakarta on Monday.

She explained that the recovery efforts were aimed at restoring normal energy distribution in areas previously affected by flooding and damaged infrastructure.

In North Sumatra, all 406 affected gas stations have been fully restored. Similarly, in West Sumatra, all 147 affected gas stations have resumed operations.

“In Aceh, 151 out of 156 gas stations, or approximately 97 percent, are back in service,” she added.

Retnowati noted that the gas station restoration was carried out in stages, with a strict focus on safety and the condition of supporting infrastructure in each area.

In addition to restoring energy infrastructure, the command post also conducted field inspections to ensure that fuel distribution remained safe and stable.

The inspections covered 55 districts and cities across 22 provinces during the monitoring period.

She further stated that the monitoring results showed fuel distribution to the public remained secure.

Devastating floods and landslides struck the three provinces in late November 2025 following high-intensity rainfall.

According to National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) records as of Monday (January 5), the disasters claimed 1,177 lives and displaced 242,200 people.
