“The body with post-mortem number 62B.01 matched ante-mortem number AM004 and was identified as Florencia Lolita Wibisono, female, aged 33,” Head of the South Sulawesi Police Health and Medical, Senior Commissioner Muhamad Haris, said during a press conference here on Wednesday.
Head of the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency’s Identification Center, Brigadier General Mashudi added that the body was still in good condition, allowing the papillary features, namely fingerprints, to remain readable.
“Therefore, we immediately took the fingerprints, and with the equipment we have, we were able to directly determine the victim’s identity,” he said.
However, to ensure accuracy and provide scientific confirmation, he explained that a comparison was conducted by taking the left thumb fingerprint and matching it with other available reference data.
“For example, we took the post-mortem fingerprints and manually compared them with the reference data. Based on this process, we are scientifically confident that the victim was Florencia Lolita Wibisono,” he added.
Earlier, the DVI post at the South Sulawesi Police’s Bhayangkara Hospital received two bodies for identification. The first body arrived on Tuesday night, female, and was successfully identified. The second arrived on Wednesday morning, male, and has not yet been identified.
