Tangerang, Banten (ANTARA) - Indonesia’s Immigration and Corrections Minister, Agus Andrianto, has directed immigration authorities to closely monitor foreign nationals entering the country under investment schemes, warning against illicit activities that could threaten public security.

“Foreign investors must not be allowed to disrupt public order. We have already seen cases in certain regions,” Andrianto said during the 76th Immigration Service Day on Monday.

His remarks come shortly after President Prabowo Subianto’s three-country tour, which secured investment commitments worth approximately Rp90 trillion (US$5.3 billion), including funding for the development of elite universities.

Andrianto emphasized that the influx of foreign nationals will affect Indonesia’s Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP), making it essential for immigration services to operate efficiently while ensuring strict supervision.

“Immigration services must continue to modernize, while oversight must be strengthened to prevent disruptions that could undermine investment,” he added.

Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya highlighted the strategic gains from President Prabowo’s five-day trip, which included a £4 billion maritime investment deal with the United Kingdom; plans to domestically produce 1,582 fishing vessels, expected to create up to 600,000 jobs; and partnerships with 24 leading UK universities in medicine and STEM fields.

On the diplomatic front, Indonesia officially joined the Board of Peace (BOP) to support peace efforts in Gaza.

At the World Economic Forum (WEF), attended by 65 heads of state and 1,000 global CEOs, President Prabowo introduced his national economic vision.

The trip also deepened cooperation with France across strategic sectors, reinforcing Indonesia’s role as a growing partner in international economic and diplomatic initiatives.
