The Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Minister, Bahlil Lahadalia, stated that during the meeting, the president asked that national natural resource management be oriented towards the interests of the state, particularly to optimally increase state revenue.
"How can we mediate so that natural resource management is truly oriented toward improving state revenue, but also must be wise in dealing with entrepreneurs," Lahadalia said at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Wednesday evening (Jan 28).
Lahadalia explained that the president asked that natural resources management also continue to pay attention to the sustainability of the business world.
In his directive, the president asked the ESDM Ministry to formulate appropriate policies for the greater national interest.
The president emphasized the importance of managing natural resources optimally for the prosperity of the people, in accordance with the mandate of Article 33 of the 1945 Constitution.
"Because the orientation of state management, as stipulated in Article 33 of the 1945 Constitution, is to manage everything well to improve the welfare of our people. We need better state revenues for the people's welfare," Lahadalia said.
The government continues to conduct further studies and discussions to ensure that national natural resource management balances the interests of the state, the business world, and the welfare of the community.
