Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has officially formed a committee to select new members of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) board of commissioners, appointing Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa as chairman.

The announcement was delivered by Arief Wibisono, expert staff to the finance minister for financial services and capital markets, during a press conference at the Finance Ministry in Jakarta on Wednesday. Arief serves as head of the committee’s secretariat.

“We have initiated the selection for OJK commissioners, opening opportunities for Indonesia’s best talents to participate in the process,” he said.

Under a presidential decree signed on Monday (Feb. 9), President Prabowo approved the establishment of the committee. Its members include Bank Indonesia Governor Perry Warjiyo, BI Deputy Governor Aida Budiman, Deputy Finance Minister Suahasil Nazara, and Deputy State Secretariat Minister Bambang Eko Suhariyanto.

The committee also includes senior officials from the Ministry of Law and the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform, a constitutional law expert, and a graphologist.

It is tasked with selecting candidates for chair and deputy chair of the OJK board of commissioners, as well as chief executive overseeing capital markets, financial derivatives, and carbon exchange supervision, following recent resignations.

The government said the selection aims to ensure leadership continuity at the OJK, strengthen governance, and optimize its role as an independent and credible authority supervising the financial services sector.

Applicants must be Indonesian citizens with at least ten years of relevant experience, have no record of causing a company bankruptcy, not be members of a political party, and have never been sentenced to prison for five years or more.

Online registration runs from Feb. 11 to March 2, 2026. The process includes administrative screening, public input, background checks, paper assessments, medical examinations, and interviews.

Final and binding results will be announced on the official websites of the Finance Ministry and Bank Indonesia, as well as the dedicated OJK selection portal, namely www.kemenkeu.go.id, www.bi.go.id, and https://seleksi-dkojk.kemenkeu.go.id.
