Jakarta (ANTARA) - Seventeen TransJakarta routes, spanning Mikrotrans, integrated services and Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) corridors, were diverted or shortened on Sunday morning after flooding inundated several streets across Jakarta.

“Due to heavy rainfall causing flooding in several locations, we adjusted operations on Sunday morning to ensure safety and comfort for passengers,” TransJakarta public relations and CSR Head Ayu Wardhani said.

Service adjustments included Corridor 2A, running from Pulogadung 1 to Rawa Nangka, which was shortened to terminate at Damai because flooding disrupted the Pulo Nangka section of Corridor 3. Corridor 3, which normally operates between Kalideres and the National Monument (Monas), was also shortened, running only between Damai and Monas in both directions due to standing water and a collapsed road barrier.

Corridor 6, connecting Ragunan and Galunggung, was diverted after floodwaters inundated roads near the Mampang underpass, forcing buses to avoid the submerged section.

Corridor 9, linking Pinang Ranti and Pluit, was rerouted via the Slipi 1 toll road after water levels exceeding 30 centimeters were reported beyond the Grogol bus stop.

Another affected route, Corridor 13E connecting Puribeta and Kuningan, was diverted through an upper roadway to avoid flooding at the Mampang underpass.

Ten Mikrotrans routes were also adjusted. Routes JAK.04 (Grogol to Jembatan Dua) and JAK.30 (Meruya to Citraland) temporarily stopped operating because floodwaters blocked key sections along their corridors. Route JAK.85, serving Bintara to Cipinang Indah, was shortened after floodwater measuring between 25 and 35 centimeters submerged Jalan Komplek Cipinang Indah II.

Several other Mikrotrans routes --JAK.108, JAK.37, JAK.53, JAK.71, JAK.75, JAK.78A and JAK.93-- were also diverted as operators attempted to bypass flooded streets across the network.

An integrated public transport route, 1C connecting Blok M and Pesanggrahan, was diverted after floodwaters of 50 centimeters were reported along Jalan Ciledug Raya. Meanwhile, non-BRT service 3E, operating between Sentraland Cengkareng and Puri Kembangan, temporarily halted operations after flooding submerged the Kapuk intersection.

Wardhani apologized to passengers for disruptions caused by the operational adjustments, acknowledging inconvenience for commuters relying on the city’s bus network during the heavy rainfall.

She urged customers to remain cautious and adjust travel schedules while monitoring route updates through the TJ: Transjakarta mobile application or the operator’s official social media channels.
