"Again, those were Gayus`s allegations, of course. They need to be substantiated by witnesses, legal facts and proof. Therefore, we will conduct an investigation," National Police Chief Gen Timur Pradopo said at the presidential office here Thursday.
The investigation would involve some institutions such as the Financial Transactions Analysis and Reporting Center (PPATK), State Audit Board (BPK), Development Financial Supervisory Board (BPKP) and Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Timur said.
According to him, Police would conduct further investigation as the judges had mentioned Gayus did not act alone in the case but with together with other persons.
Previously, Gayus had claimed the Judicial Mafia Eradication Task Force knew about his departure to Singapore and had also accused him of receiving a sum of money from the Bakrie Group.
He said it was the Task Force that had arranged and engineered his case.
Gayus also said the Task Force knew about the involvement of a CIA agent in his case.
However, a Task Force spokesman had denied Gayus`s statement it had arranged and engineered his corruption and tax evasion case.(*)
