Jambi, Sumatra (ANTARA News) - Kerinci district chief Murasman is in April to inaugurate a Kerinci culture museum in Petaling Jaya, a township in Malaysia, many of whose residents have roots in the Indonesian district, a local official said,

"The township of Petaling Jaya, Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), is inhabited by thousands of people hailing from Kerinci district who still maintain the culture and customs of the land of their birth," Arlis Harun, head of Kerinci district`s youth, sports, cultur and tourism office, said here Wednesday.

The Kerinci-born community in Petaling Jaya had built a museum holding historical artifacts brought from Kerinci, and serving as a center to practice Kerinci arts and raditions.
