In spite of the global economic turmoil, I am certain that national economic development this year will get even better than beforeJakarta (ANTARA News) - Vice President Boediono has expressed optimism that the Indonesian economy would get better in 2011 than in the previous years.
"In spite of the global economic turmoil, I am certain that national economic development this year will get even better than before," the vice president said at a function to observe the 59th anniversary of the Indonesian Employers Association (Apindo) here on Monday.
On the occasion the vice president asserted that the government would do all it can to take advantage of every moment and opportunity to improve the national economic.
"In so doing I am sure our national economy will be better than that in 2010," the vice president said.
Meanwhile, Coordinating Minister for Economy Hatta Rajasa was of the opinion that the global economic turmoil, including political crisis in Egypt and Tunisia would have no effect on Indonesian economy.
"We are optimistic that our national economy will be much better than that in 2010, because its indicator remains consistent," Hatta Rajasa said.
He added that food prices have become stable.
"We have to maintain our inflation and are certain that our economic growth of 6.4 percent is achievable," Hatta added.
