Highly publicized cases of bullying have focused renewed attention on the problem recently, with the government vowing to take measures to deal with the problem.
A Child Welfare League Foundation survey of fifth, sixth, seventh and ninth graders conducted in January found that 18.8 percent of the students surveyed said they had been bullied often (meaning more than three times a month) at school. (*)
