"The five countries are the United States, India, Malaysia, Japan and Australia," Head of the Bali Provincial Culture Office I Ketut Suastika said here on Saturday.
He said the foreign arts troupes would take part in arts shows. But it was likely they would also participate in a cultural parade, along with arts troupes from the province`s eight districts and one municipality.
He said the foreign arts troupes had been in constant contact with the festival`s organizing committee through an e-mail since the 32nd such event wound up last year. Therefore, they could make better preparations for the upcoming festival.
Normally, foreign arts missions confirmed their plan to take part in such festival in March or April. But this time they had established communication with the organizing committee since early in August 2010, he said.
Seven foreign arts missions took part in the 32nd Bali Arts Festival last year. They were from Japan, India, the United States, China, Australia, Spain and Singapore.
He said the number of foreign countries taking part in Bali Arts Festival fluctuated from year to year. In 2007, 12 countries participated in the festival. The number rose to 18 in 2008 and fell to 14 in 2009 and further moved down to seven in 2010.
