The offer was made by Li Yuanchao, charman of the Chinese Communist Party`s organizational affairs, at a meeting with PDIP chairwoman Megawati Soekarnoputri at the PDIP headquarters here Monday, PDIP Secretary General Tjahjo Koemolo said.
The Chinese Communist Party had made the offer as a way to further cement Indonesia-China relations which had a history dating back to the Soekarno era in Indonesia, Tjahjo told reporters after the meeting.
To discuss the proposed cooperation in greater detail , the two parties would hold a dialog that could last two weeks to two months.
At the meeting with Megawati, the Chinese Communist Party official also outlined the ways his party used to consolidate its constituents` rank and file.
According to Tjahjo, Li YuanChao was the third highest official in the Chinese Communist Party and one of the 17 members of the party`s Political Bureau which decides on appointments to positions in the government.
Li at the meeting with Megawati also invited the latter to visit China to attend a political event in September 2011.
"Being an open party, the PDIP is prepared to cooperate with any political party in the world," Tjahjo said. (*)
