"The King and people of Thailand are inviting you to come to Thailand as your business partner," Thai Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva said during the conclusion of WEF-EA here on Monday.
Abhisit said Thailand is economically strong and firm and therefore deserves to play host to the meeting of businessmen.
He said the countries need to set together formally and discuss the balanced and sustainable global economic order.
"There is the G20, but it was only an institution reactive to the recent crisis," he said.
He added that as a new economic power, the voice of ASEAN needs to be heard.
"A new globalism needs reforms to reflect the representation of all countries," Abhisit said.
In the meantime, WEF Asia Director Sushant Palakurthi Rao said it is a must for the business world, the government and people to continue growing and developing.
"The the ASEAN connectivity scheme is an example of cooperation and integration between different cultures," he said.
On the occasion he expressed appreciation for the support of all parties for making a success of the 20th WEF-EA meeting in Jakarta.
"In my few days in Jakarta I felt like an Indonesian citizen," Sushant Palakurti said.(*)
