"We must mobilize all our power to change the stance of those members of the international community that have yet to recognize the Palestinian state. They must immediately give their recognition without delay for the sake of justice," Marty said in his speech at the annual coordinating ministerial meeting of OIC organized on the sidelines of the 66th Session of the United Nations General Assembly here on Friday.
Marty also held bilateral and multilateral meetings on Friday (Sept 23) with Australian Foreign Minister Kevin Rudd and Timor Leste Foreign Minister Zacarias Albano da Costa.
The tripartite meeting, according to Marty, discussed cooperation among the three countries which had been going for the past 10 years since Timor Leste officially became a sovereign nation in 2002.
"We discussed various technical cooperation efforts , including in the educational, marine, infrastructure and other fields, as well as regional issues, an ASEAN-Southwest Pacific dialog in particular," he said.
Marty also officially represented Indonesia at functions to mark the opening of diplomatic relations with El Savador and Antigua-Barbuda.
The minister also spoke at a conference on the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty (CTBT) on Friday.
Indonesia itself is currently taking internal steps to have the CTBT ratified by its parliament.
On Thursday (Sept 22), Marty attended a coordinating meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM)`s Palestinian Committee. He urged around 20 NAM member countries which had so far not recognized a Palestinian state to fully support the Palestinian bid for UN membership.
He said NAM member nations must be consistent in supporting the Palestinians` struggle for independence.
Marty on Thursday also held bilateral meetings with his counterparts from Palestine, England, Portugal, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Latvia, Georgia, Cyprus, Nepal, Norway, Sweden, Greece, Ukraine, China, Iran, Tunisia, Jordan, Iraq and the United Arab Emirates. (*)
