Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Police have uncovered a drug distribution operation believed to have been supplied from the Netherlands in Jakarta`s Mangga Dua business district and arrested a suspect involved in it.

"A special team from the Directorate of Narcotic Crimes of the National Police Crime Investigation Department arrested Yun on December 14 at the Harco Mangga Dua shop house complex," head of the National Police`s public relations division, Inspector General Saud Usman Nasution, said here on Wednesday.

Yun was suspected to have kept ecstasy and methamphetamine in his warehouse which was a shop house in Harco Mangga Dua Block R Number 35. The drugs are believed to have come from the Netherlands, he said.

"On Thursday (Dec 15) following his interrogation it was found that the one controlling the distribution of ecstasy and methamphetamine in Indonesia are Ver and Mar," he said.

Yun was known as having obtained, kept and distributed the drugs to suspects now still at large namely NN, AR, RIS, SN, AN, FR following orders from Ver and Mar, he said.

"As evidence 17 plastic packages have been confiscated each containing 5,000 light blue ecstasy pills with a `mitsubishi` logo on them totaling in all 85,000 pills," he said.

Apart from them, police had also confiscated three plastic packets each containing 1,000 gram of methampehtamine totally weighing 3,000 grams.

"The value of the ecstasy pills and meth reaches Rp29 billion," he said. (*)
