Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesia`s sixth favored badminton men`s doubles Markis Kido and Hendra Setiawan waltzed to the finals of the Australian Open after beating their compatriots Angga Pratama and Ryan Agung Saputro.

The 2008 Beijing Olympic champions rose from their backlog in the first game to win the match 15-21, 21-14, 21-11 in the semifinals of the tournament in Sydney on Saturday.

"I was shocked by their fast play," Kido said after the match.

"We were able to match their speed, and they therefore made their own falts," Kido added.

With regard to his defeat, Ryan Agung Saputro said they managed to guess their opponents, he said.

He said he managed to change the pattern of their play, but he eventually made so many mistakes of own own.

Later Kido and Hendra will face Taiwan`s third hopeful Fang Chieh Min and Lee Sheng Mu who had beaten Japan`s seventh hopeful Hiroyuki Endo and Kenichi Hayakawa 21-10, 22-20.

"We will try our best," Kido said along with Hendra to win the two last matches with the Taiwanese doubles.

In the match, men`s singles Simon Santoso was beaten by Chinese Chen Jin 22-20, 21-15.(*)
