Today we are having a plenary working meeting for reports from working groups on connectivity, regulations, energy and mineral resources, and science and technology.Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Chief Economic Minister Hatta Rajasa said the projects of the Master Plan for Acceleration and Expansion of Economic Development (MP3EI) is currently still being realized according to government`s plan.
"Today we are having a plenary working meeting for reports from working groups on connectivity, regulations, energy and mineral resources, and science and technology," Hatta said after the MP3EI coordinating session at the National Development Agency (Bappenas) building in Jakarta Thursday.
He said in 2012 there are 39 projects with an investment of Rp195.9 trillion, and 50 projects in the real sector with an investment of Rp294.8 trillion.
"The total investment amounted to Rp490.7 trillion, which has already been validated from Rp600 trillion in March 2012," he said.
He added that the regulation working group has already had 30 improved regulations, regulations still being improved, and those identified for improvement.
The 30 improved regulations have laws, several government regulations, Presidential Regulations, and Ministerial Regulations.
But he also received reports on land problems, especially forest land.
In that context the government will hold special meetings with businessmen and governors to focus on identifying all the problem projects and land for an earliest possible solution.
In the meantime, chairman of the MP3EI working group of Sumatra corridor Zulkifli Hasan said in 2012 several projects will be realized in Sumatra, including plantations, road infrastructures, rail roads, and ports.
"In this context, the government has validated Rp47 trillion for ground breaking projects, and up to 2014 there will be Rp1.000 trillion for Sumatra," he said.
He added that in the Sumatra corridor, a big project in Sei Mangke will have an oil palm industry with an investor, but still facing land problems.
The other major project is the Medan-Kuala toll road, which is now only awaiting a loan.
In the meantime, the big projects in South Sumatra are the development of trains, ports and coal.
