"There will be 437 interprovincial buses, 16 intercity big buses, 87 intercity medium-size buses, 389 inter-island buses, and eight additional buses," Head of Surakarta Transportation Department Yosca Herman Sudrajad said here on Wednesday.
He added that the local government also provided 623 taxis, 207 city buses and 433 minibuses.
The Transportation Department predicted that the total number of passenger arrivals and departures would be 646,753 and 588,329, respectively.
In order to deal with the exodus of people during the Islamic holiday, Yosca said, a number of extra buses had also been made ready and their permits issued.
