"Telkomsel provides `Broadband Corner` in the area of the jamboree."
Makassar, South Sulawesi (ANTARA News) - The major telecommunication operator Telkomsel added to the capacity of its telecommunications network in the area where the Indonesia-ASEAN Youth Jamboree 2012 is being held at Bukit Jabal Nur camp in Palu district, Central Sulawesi.

"The optimization of the telecommunications networks at Bukit Jabal Nur camp is a show of our support for the event that will be held until November 3," Head of Telkomsel Regional Corporate Communication for Sulawesi and Papua, Hasrina, said here on Saturday.

According to Hasrina, the network quality optimization was performed at several points where there has been a surge of cell phone usage, including at the airport, the governor`s office, and hotels.

"Especially for the event we brought in base transmission stations (BTS) using a single unit of mobile COMBAT, which is a fleet of mobile cellular network providers. It is useful to increase the capacity for handling phone calls for a certain time," she explained.

Hasrina added that Telkomsel`s service area has been expanded to all districts in Central Sulawesi, with more than 1.8 million customers, in which all districts are being served by more than 420 BTS units.

However, she added, to support the Indonesia-ASEAN Youth Jamboree 2012, Telkomsel has increased its normal service capacity.

"In addition to ensuring the availability of an adequate network, Telkomsel provides `Broadband Corner` in the area of the jamboree. It is a service and sales platform to ensure our products availability," she said.

The jamboree, involving more than 3,000 participants, is to be led and inaugurated by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.
