In a written statement to ANTARA News on Friday, Karjodihardjo said the first move would involve the setting up of a post box number and short message centres to accommodate complaints.
According to him, people can send their complaints to PO Box 1181, JKS 10211 and can connect with the SMS centre through the number 085781881181 or call on 021-70881181.
He noted that the aim of the complaint centres was to listen to the thoughts of Jakarta residents who are unable to channel them directly to the local Regional Legislative Assembly (DPRD) or the regional government.
"We will also accommodate written reports about the attitude and behaviour of Jakarta government officials in cases that have the potential to hamper the pace of development in the city," Karjodihardjo noted.
He also called on the people of Jakarta to observe and support the newly elected governor, Joko Widodo, and vice governor, Basuki, so that they are able to deliver on their election promise of a new Jakarta.
"As a transparent measure, we will publish complaint letters and reports received from the people," he said.
The complaint reports and letters would also be sent to Governor Jokowi for direct follow-ups.
"We are committed to observing and supporting the new governor so that he can implement his election promises," Karjodihardjo added. (*)
