Bandarlampung, Lampung (ANTARA News) - The oil production in Bandarlampung, Lampung Province increased by 3.03 percent or 933.54 barrels per day in the third quarter of 2012, according to an official of Bank Indonesia (BI/the central bank).

"The gas production on the other hand rose 3.36 percent to 3.4 million British Thermal Unit (MMBTU) as compared with that in the second quarter of 2012," Cheif of BI for Lampung office Gandjar Mustika said here on Sunday.

He stated that the construction sector also increased by 1.99 percent and 4.77 percent compared to that in the same period of 2011.

"Thus, this sector contributed 0.23 percent to Lampung`s economic growth during the third quarter of 2012," he said.

Moreover, Mustika noted that the financial, leasing and service sectors also experienced 1.23 percent quarter to quarter growth or 15.17 percent year on year.

"The contribution of this sector to the economic growth reached 1.48 percent or the highest one compared to those of other sectors during the third quarter of 2012," he added.

Mustika stated that the banking sub-sector also increased by 1.08 percent.

"The increase of the banking sector is in line with the increase of the banking performance contributed by banking income which rose 77.40 percent (yoy).

However, the mining and quarrying sectors fell 0.20 percent (qtq) and rose 4.42 percent (yoy), according to him.

"Oil and gas sectors have the highest contribution in mining and quarrying sectors which reached 0,08 percent to the economic growth during the third quarter of 2012," he said.

He stated that the construction sector rose 1.99 percent (qtq) or 4.77 percent (yoy) with the contribution to the economic growth as much as 0.23 percent during the third quarter of 2012.

"The increase in the construction sector is accordance with the cement consumption which rose 8.52 percent," Mustika pointed out.

"The service sector dropped by 4.26 percent (qtq), even though it increased 6.28 (yoy). Thus, the contribution remains high to the economic growth which reached 0.48 percent," he added.

He said that the increase in the service sector is in line with the Business Activity Survey (SKDU) which showed the increase in private service sector at 33.33 percent during the third quarter of 2012.
