Putrajaya, Malaysia (ANTARA News) - Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono left Kuala Lumpur at 1.45 pm local time for a working visit to India.

Presidential special staff of international relations Teuku Faizasyah said the President`s flight from Kuala Lumpur to New Delhi would take at least 5 hours.

He stated that the Indonesian head of state was scheduled to attend the ASEAN-India Summit in New Delhi.

"The summit is being held to mark the 20th anniversary of relations between India and members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations," Faizasyah noted.

"President Yudhoyono`s visit to New Delhi reflects Indonesia`s commitment to enhancing the cooperation and partnership between ASEAN and India. The meeting will also be used to develop a vision for future relations between ASEAN and India," he added.

Earlier on Tuesday, President Yudhoyono led an Indonesian delegation to the 9th annual consultation meeting with Malaysia.

The delegation included Coordinating Minister for Political, Security and Legal Affairs Djoko Suyanto, Defence Minister Purnomo Yusgiantoro, Manpower Minister Muhaimin Iskandar, Home Affairs Minister Gamawan Fauzi, Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa, Education Minister Mohammad Nuh and Industry Minister MS Hidayat.

At a joint press conference with Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak in Puterajaya, President Yudhoyono said there was 'plenty of scope to expand bilateral economic cooperation, given the positive economic growth in both countries'.

"The Indonesian economy has been growing at a fast rate in recent years, which offers opportunities for cooperation with various parties, including Malaysia," he added.
