The city administration would set up 16 stages along the street.Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Jakarta Metropolitan Police Command has prepared its personnel to guard the Jakarta Night Festival on the eve of the New Year on Monday.
The command spokesman, Senior Commissioner Rikwanto, said 120 policemen would be assigned to guard each stage to be set up along the Sudirman-Thamrin main street to highlight the festival.
Joint forces from the police, the military, the fire brigade, the health service and city administration police would stand by at each stage, he said.
The city administration would set up 16 stages along the street where musical and cultural performances would be held.
Rikwanto said the Jakarta Metropolitan Police Command would deploy 3,942 of its personnel to assure security of the festival.
The Sudirman-Thamrin street would be closed for motor vehicles from 8pm to 2pm for the festival.
