Tabanan (ANTARA News) - Bodies of two students reported drowned on Saturday in Lake Beratan in Bedugul, Bali, were found on Sunday.

The two, Slamet (17) and Sri Utami (17), were students of a state senior high school in Tuban, East Java.

They were part of a group of the students of the school and teachers on a holiday tour of Bali.

Slamet and Utami were thrown to the lake and drowned after a wooden bridge where the group stood for photograph collapsed.

Apparently the bridge had been too old and could not sustain all 12 students and their teachers on it.

The other ten students and teachers were safe but Slamet and Utami were missing apparently without others aware of it, Tabanan police chief Adj. Sr. Comr Dekananto Eko Purwono said.

Nasrudin, a teacher of the students said he asked the students to get into the bus and leave Tabanan soon after the incident.

In the bus he was aware that two of the students were missing and immediately reported to police.

He said they departed from Tuban on Thursday for a two day outing to Bali. In Bali they went to Bedugul and stopped at the lake only to take a photograph.

Police are still investigating the cause of the accident.
