Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Ten political parties that will contest in the 2014 legislative elections obtained their respective sequence numbers in a plenary meeting held by the General Election Commission (KPU) here on Monday.

The sequence numbers of the electoral participants are as follows.

1. Partai Nasional Demokrat (Nasdem) or National Democratic Party) no.1.
2. Partai Kebangkitan Bangsa (PKB) or National Awakening Party no.2.
3. Partai Keadilan Sejahtera (PKS) or Prosperous Justice Party no.3.
4. Partai Demokrasi Indonesia Perjuangan (PDIP) or Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle no.4.
5. Partai Golongan Karya (Golkar Party) or Golkar Party no.5.
6. Partai Gerakan Indonesia Raya (Gerindra) or Great Indonesian Movement Party no.6.
7. Partai Demokrat (PD) or Demoratic Party no.7.
8. Partai Amanat Nasional (PAN) or National Mandate Party no.8.
9. Partai Persatuan Pembangunan (PPP) or United Development Party no.9.
10.Partai Hati Nurani Rakyat (Hanura) or People`s Conscience Party no.10.

The open plenary meeting was also attended by several party leaders.

On Tuesday (Jan 8), the KPU decided to allow only ten of 36 political parties to contest the 2014 general elections.

The other 24 parties failed to meet the requirements to take part in the elections, KPU chairman Husni Kamil Manik said.

The decision was made after an open plenary session of the commission here from Monday to early Tuesday.

"Revision of this decision is possible only on a decision of the Election Supervision Agency (Bawaslu), a decision of the State Administration High Court or a decision of the Supreme Court," the KPU decision said as read by Husni.

The 24 parties failing to get through verification to take part in the elections are.

2. Partai Demokrasi Pembaharuan
3. Partai Keadilan dan Persatuan Indonesia
4. Partai Kedaulatan Bangsa Indonesia Baru
5. Partai Peduli Rakyat Nasional
6. Partai Persatuan Nasional
7. Partai Bhinneka Indonesia
8. Partai Buruh
9. Partai Damai Sejahtera
10. Partai Demokrasi Kebangsaan
11. Partai Karya Peduli Bangsa
12. Partai Karya Republik
13. Partai Kebangkitan Nasional Ulama
14. Partai Kedaulatan
15. Partai Kesatuan Demokrasi Indonesia
16. Partai Kongres
17. Partai Nasional Benteng Kerakyatan Indonesia
