The two-day meeting which will bring together participants from 26 Asian, European, American and African countries will discuss a variety of broadcast-related problems such as news package and current strategic issues in the information field, head of the North Sulawesi provincial transportation, communication and information office Parlindungan Tampubolon said at the gubernatorial office here on Tuesday.
He said North Sulawesi Governor Sinyo Harry Sarundajang, director of the state broadcast corporation Radio Republic Indonesia (RRI) Niken and a number of officials from the Asian Pacific Institute for Broadcast Development (AIBD) will also take part in the meeting of broadcasting industry.
"Hopefully, the meeting of broadcasters will produce recommendations related to broadcast," he said.
Prior to the summit, the event`s organizing committee had organized a talkshow on new era of broadcast which featured Director General of Communication and Public Information of the Communication and Information Ministry Freddy Tulung and an AIBD official, he said.
"We hope for support from all sides to create peaceful and secure condition so the Asia Media Summit will be successful," he said.
