Biak, Papua (ANTARA News) - Garuda Indonesia plane tickets for western destinations from Biak, Papua, such as Makassar and Jakarta have been fully booked up to seven days after Lebaran, Biak sales manager said.

Johanis Frederik M, Garuda`s Biak sales and service manager, said here on Saturday orders had soared up to 80 percent from normal level.

"Tickets for seven days before and after Lebaran have been fully booked," he said.

He said Garuda did not provide extra flights out of Biak or Papua despite the increasing passengers during the holiday.

He said Garuda would only provide one flight every day from Biak`s Kaisiepo airport.

"With Boeing 737 with a capacity of carrying 150 passengers it is hoped service is sufficient," he said.

Johanis said passengers had started booking tickets three months before the fall of the holiday to mark the end of the Islamic fasting month of Ramadhan expected on August 8..

Until Saturday Garuda flights from Biak to Jayapura, Makassar and Jakarta have gone smoothly, he said.
