Pekalongan is a port on the northern coast of Central Java and has a population of about 300,000. The local government is currently planning an expansion by introducing a smart city system which covers health, education, security and transportation as well as by expanding the breadth and depth of government regulation to improve administrative efficiency and the satisfaction level of its citizenry. The Indonesian government expects to build the project as a benchmark for information-based development. With the help of local distributors, customers have gained an in-depth understanding of the superior performance of Inspur server and have decided to deepen their cooperation with Inspur on smart city and other projects.
As a leading cloud computing manufacturer in China, Inspur has put together a comprehensive solution covering three "as-a-service" levels: IaaS, PaaS and SaaS. The quarterly sales volume of Inspur servers reached 65,000 sets, ranking fifth across the world, according to survey data from global research firm Gartner on the server market for the second quarter of 2013.This is the first time that a Chinese server manufacturer has been ranked among world’s top five. Based on the firm's long-term accumulation of industrial and technological innovation, Inspur was able to better grasp the opportunities brought about by China's industrial reform. By establishing a footprint in the hosting sector early and through its investment in independent research and development, the firm has differentiated itself from other domestic manufacturers. The introduction of the idea of an "Industrial Cloud" and of specifications for the cloud sector enabled Inspur to build cloud applications in more than ten sectors, including smart cities as well as the education and media clouds. The Industrial Cloud concept is widely welcome by clients in Southeast Asian countries like Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia and has gone a long way in helping the company be vigorously promoted in the region.
Inspur Group is now aggressively expanding its business in Southeast Asia and has set up representative offices in seven countries, including Thailand, Indonesia and Laos. Supporting Indonesia’s smart city construction will further drive the expansion of Inspur products and solutions in Southeast Asian countries and improve the capability for local governments to enhance their information-based development.
