We will start soon, hopefully the construction will be finished this year."
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Jakartas governor and the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP)s presidential candidate Joko Widodo (Jokowi) met Chief of the Indonesian Defense Forces (TNI) General Moeldoko here on Thursday discussing improvement of road access to military headquarters in Cilangkap, East Jakarta.

"Jokowi said he would approve the proposal to build better road access to the military headquarters in Cilangkap. As you know, the access road to and from the headquarters is narrow and not in a good condition. Hopefully, the commitment will be realized soon," Military Chief General Moeldoko said.

Meanwhile, Jokowi said the construction of the road leading to the military headquarters in Cilangkap was expected to be finished this year. Jokowi added that the construction project would also create green space around the military headquarters.

"We will start soon, hopefully the construction will be finished this year," Jokowi said.

The military headquarters are located at Jalan Setu Cipayung, East Jakarta. According to the construction plan, the road access to the headquarters will be expanded from seven meters to 20 meters, with the length of 1.3 kilometers. The project was predicted to cost Rp60.7 billion, which will be taken from Jakartas Regional Budget.

General Moeldoko was said to be one of several public figures who are being considered to contest as a candidate for the vice president alongside Jokowi in the presidential election. However, the general had not yet made a statement about his candidature or whether he will contest as a vice presidential candidate.
