"I have asked broadcasting institutions to continue to keep the good image of Indonesia abroad," the vice president stated, when opening the National Coordination Meeting (Rakornas) of Indonesian Broadcasting Commission here on Tuesday.
He noted that whatever happens at home, it was natural and therefore the reputation and image of the nation should be maintained in the eyes of international community.
Participated by the members of Regional Indonesian Broadcasting Commission across the country, the meeting will last until April 24.
During his visit to Jambi, the vice president was accompanied, among others, by Youth and Sports Minister Roy Suryo, Health Minister Nafsiah Mboi, and Communication and Informatics Minister Tifatul Sembiring.
Further, the vice president added that news material published by the broadcasting institutions should reflect the integrity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI).
"Together with the broadcasting institutions, we have to maintain the integrity and unity of NKRI," Boediono confirmed.
Meanwhile, Tifatul Sembiring explained that in the face of the digital era, the broadcasting institutions are expected to present healthy and informative news.
Sembiring noted that in 2018, Indonesia will be on the verge of a digital era, and therefore it should be balanced with smart and healthy news.
