"The inauguration can be held anywhere," Home Minister Tjahjo Kumolo said.
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesian Home Minister Tjahjo Kumolo said that the date of the inauguration of Jakartas acting governor, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama "Ahok," as the official governor of the capital city depended on President Jokowis schedule.

"The inauguration can be held anywhere," Kumolo told the press before attending the cabinet meeting at the presidential office here on Monday.

He also confirmed that as the official letter for the inauguration had already been sent to the State Secretariat, the presidential decree would be issued soon.

However, the minister added that the date of the ceremony was uncertain as the arrangements need to be made to suit President Jokowis schedule. This means that the event could be held either at the state palace or at the office of the home ministry.

Regarding Jokowis weekly schedule, Kumolo affirmed that he would brief all governors in Indonesia.

Furthermore, the acting governor of Jakarta, Ahok, stated in a separate interview that he was not certain about the date of his inauguration as the governor.

"I have discussed the subject with President Jokowi. It will be probably held on Tuesday (November 18), or on Wednesday (November 19)," Ahok noted at the city hall here on Monday.

He added that President Jokowi had asked the State Secretariat to prepare the decree related to the inauguration.

When questioned about the location of the inauguration ceremony, Ahok pointed out that it would be held at the Jakarta Capital City area, as regulated by Law Number 32/2004 on the regional government.(*)
