Jusuf Kalla (JK) said he would wait for the process in parliament (DPR), before taking steps over the alleged exploitation by a politician of his name and that of the President.
"It has already spread, so let us just wait for the process at the DPR. That will be the first step," he said at Halim Perdanakusuma airport here on Tuesday before leaving for Manila for the APEC Summit.
He added that he would probably file a lawsuit after learning of the reaction from the DPR.
"Later, after learning about the response from the DPR, we will take further steps," he said.
The vice president added that it would be appropriate if President Joko Widodo became angry after learning that his name has been misused for personal gains.
He said he had already reprimanded House Speaker Setya Novanto, who has been alleged of having used the names of the President and Vice President for his gains over PT Freeport Indonesias contract extension.
"Certainly we have been firm, but he has not yet admitted this. So, let us just wait," he said.
Minister of energy and mineral resources Sudirman Said reported on Monday morning to the DPRs Ethics Council in connection with the exploitation of the names of the President and the Vice President by a politician cum DPR member in connection with PT Freeports contract extension.
The minister told a number of electronic and national television media that several months ago PT Freeport was contacted by a number of influential politicians, who attempted use the names of the President and the Vice President.
