The president inaugurated Soetrisno Bachir as chairman of KEIN, Arif Budimanta as deputy chairman, Putri Wardani as secretary, and 17 others as members.
The 17 KEIN members inaugurated by President Jokowi are Hendri Saparini, Hariyadi Sukamdani, Eddy Sariatmadja, Sudhamek, Jhonny Darmawan, Benny Soetrisno, Mohamad Fadhil Hasan, Benny Pasaribu, Sonny Budi Harsono, Aries Muftie, Muhammad Safii Antonio, M. Najikh, Andri B.S. Sudibyo, Zulnahar Usman, Irfan Wahid, Donny Oskaria, and Sugiarto Alim.
The KEIN has been established in line with Presidential Decree No. 8 of 2016.
Before inaugurating the KEIN board of management, the head of state also installed Nazir Foead as new chief of the Peatland Restoration Agency.
Jokowi announced the appointment of Foead as chief of the new agency on January 13, 2016, describing him to be a competent and experienced figure.
Vice President Jusuf Kalla, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Coordinating Minister for Culture and Human Development Puan Maharani, Economic Minister Darmin Nasution, Industry Minister Saleh Husin, Religious Affairs Minister Lukman Hakim Saifuddin, Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Minister Yuddy Chrisnandi, Forestry and Environment Minister Siti Nurbaya, Presidential Advisory Council Chairman Sri Adiningsih, Peoples Consultative Assembly Chairman Zulkifli Hasan, and House Speaker Ade Komaruddin were present during the inauguration ceremony.
