Jokowi has ordered the sports and youth minister to evaluate the condition of the soil and buildings in the area.
Sentul, W Java (ANTARA News) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has assessed that the cost of security and maintenance of the Hambalang sports center located in Sentul, West Java, is very high.

"We want to resume (the development) soon as the cost of security and maintenance is very high," Jokowi stated while inspecting the sports facility here on Friday.

Related ministries, including the sports and youth ministry and the public works and public housing ministry, will evaluate the facilitys construction in the area, according to the president.

The status of the existing supporting equipment in the athlete hostel will be checked by the Finance and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP), he remarked.

The government plans to hold a limited cabinet meeting on Hambalang in the next week or two weeks to come.

The Hambalang sports complex was constructed on a plot of land measuring 32 hectares.

The complex was built using the funds allocated through the 2010-2012 budget, but the work has been halted due to a corruption case concerning the construction funds.(*)
