Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian House Of Representatives (DPR) was secured by security personnel led by the Presidential Security Forces (Paspampres) before the arrival of Saudi Arabias King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud along with his convoy.

Moreover, Antara reporters on the scene revealed that some arrangements had also been made in the DPR to welcome King Salman. Nusantara Building, or the Indonesian Parliamentary office, was decorated with flowers from the entrance stretching until the grand meeting room I.

Red carpet also stretched from the lobby until the same meeting room to welcome King Salman. The Saudi Arabian flag was hoisted alongside the Indonesian flag on the main pillar.

Paspampres personnel were also on duty since morning around the Nusantara Building to ensure King Salmans safety during the visit.

The deployed forces at the entrances around the building include the personnel from the Indonesian National Army and Police Department.

Heavy security is in place to ensure that King Salmans agenda in the DPR area will be conducted smoothly and safely.

Earlier, Army Commander General Major Jaswandi along with Metro Jaya Police Chief Irjen Pol M. Iriawan had conducted security checks in the parliamentary office before the kings visit today.

Despite not revealing the number of deployed army personnel, Jaswandi made assurance that the force was adequate to secure the kings visit.

Metro Jaya Police Chief Irjen Pol M. Iriawan noted that the police is helping the army to increase security. Some 4.9 thousand police personnel have been deployed around the places to be visited by the Saudi king.

"We have mobilized 4.9 thousand personnel at the DPR, Istiqlal mosque, around the National Palace, and some other places," Iriawan stated.

King Salmans convoy arrived in Indonesia through the Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, Jakarta, on Wednesday (Mar 1), and the state visit will last until Mar 9.

The arrival of King Salman in Indonesia will strengthen cooperation between two countries.

The Foreign Ministry had stated that 11 memoranda of understanding would be signed.
