Garut, W Java (ANTARA News) - Incumbent presidential candidate Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said on Friday that he was satisfied with his appearance in the first round of the presidential debate held in Jakarta the previous day.

"Satisfied. Actually, we only talked about what we had done," he said after inspecting a free electricity connection program in Cibatu, Garut district, West Java, on Friday, Jan 18.

However, he also admitted some shortcomings in his appearance.

He said the shortcomings would help in evaluating his appearance in the first round of the presidential debate and improve his appearance in the next round.

He said what his political rival delivered in the first round of the debate also served as an input.

"If there are shortcomings, we will improve upon them," he said.

The first round of the 2019 presidential debate carried the theme of Law, Human Rights, Corruption, and Terrorism. This debate is one of the five presidential debates to be carried out based on Law No.7 of the 2017 elections. The law mandated the presidential debate to be widely broadcast to the people of Indonesia.

The 2019 presidential election is a rematch for both Indonesian presidential candidates, Joko Widodo and Prabowo Subianto, who had previously competed in the 2014 presidential election.
