The expo is expected to help the government boost infrastructure investment and competitiveness in IndonesiaJakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) will organize the Seventh Indonesia Infrastructure Week (IIW) at JIEXPO Kemayoran, Jakarta, from November 6 to 8, 2019.
The expo is expected to help the government boost infrastructure investment and competitiveness in Indonesia, Diding S Anwar, Chairman of the Infrastructure Funding Permanent Committee of Kadin, said here Thursday. "This program is as per the government's policy to accelerate national infrastructure development. Certainly, a synergy between the private sector and the government, and also investors, should be properly developed," he stated.
The government will allocate Rp420.5 trillion in the Draft State Budget (RAPBN) 2019 for infrastructure development, or constitute 17.2 percent of the total State Budget 2019 at Rp2,439.7 trillion.
Based on data of the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas), Indonesia has set a target of infrastructure share increase to 50 percent from the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) by 2024, from 43 percent of GDP in 2017.
To achieve the target, it needs infrastructure investment worth US$429.7 billion or 6.1 percent of GDP for the 2020-2024 period.
With that in mind, the government has encouraged the role of the private sector in infrastructure development under the Government-to-Business scheme (KPBU) and Non-Government Budget Investment Financing (PINA) scheme.

Kadin Indonesia has initiated the holding of the IIW since 2013 by involving various ministries, state enterprises and private companies.
The expo is a platform for businessmen and provides solutions in the infrastructure field, Tri Turturi, the organizer of IIW 2019 said.
It will provide detailed information on the challenges and opportunities in infrastructure projects in Indonesia.
"All key players in the Indonesian infrastructure industry supply chains will meet for three days, to explore new opportunities, share ideas, build connections, and display their main products and services," she said.
She estimated that some 16 thousand people will visit the Indonesia Infrastructure Week 2019 highlighting infrastructure in the fields of energy, water and waste treatment, railway, seaports, utilities, constructions and transportation.
The theme of the IIW 2019 is "Infrastructure 4.0: Measuring Financing and Human Resources Readiness in Indonesia."
The expo will have nine segments, such as InfraEnergy Indonesia, InfraPorts Indonesia, InfraSecurity Indonesia, InfraRail Indonesia, InfraWater Indonesia, Trenchless Indonesia, Special Economic and Industrial Zones (SEIZ), Tourism Indonesia and Indonesia Logistics Summit.
