Demak, C Java (ANTARA) - Local firefighters strove incessantly for 15 hours to douse a fire ravaging some warehouses of PT Hartono Istana Teknologi, the brand holder of Polytron, in Central Java, Tuesday afternoon, Demak Disaster Mitigation Agency’s official stated.

Fortunately, no fatalities were reported in the fire that destroyed the company's warehouses, located on Semarang-Demak Road in Sayung Sub-district, Demak District, Demak Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) Head Agus Nugroho notified journalists here on Wednesday.

The fire that broke out in the warehouses of this electronics factory at 1:30 p.m. local time on Tuesday could have been extinguished after firefighters struggled for 15 hours. They then conducted a cooling process at around 5 a.m. local time on Wednesday, he stated.

Despite no fatalities in the accident, several workers and firefighters reportedly suffered injuries and experienced shortness of breath owing to thick smoke emanating from the fires.
