"Indonesia is ranked 11th globally (in the COVID-19 vaccination program), with 24.84 million vaccines injected to the public," Indrawati remarked at the KiTA National Budget Press Conference, here on Tuesday.
The minister pressed to carry forward this achievement, particularly in the wake of a disruption to vaccine supplies worldwide in the wake of a sharp spike in the number of COVID-19 cases in India.
Indrawati remarked that amid the increase in COVID-19 cases in India, a decision was taken to not export the vaccines it manufactured to other nations.
Meanwhile, in Indonesia, the government managed to contain the spread of COVID-19 cases through the application of myriad policies, including the application of restrictions on micro-scale community activities (PPKM) as well as the imposition of the Lebaran homecoming ban.
"Indonesia could still manage to contain the number of cases after we recorded an increase in January to early February, which then prompted the government to tighten (the people's) mobility," she noted.
The minister expected to contain the number of COVID-19 cases in Indonesia through steps taken by the government, such as increasing testing, tracing, and treatment (3T) efforts and encouraging people to wear masks, wash their hands, and keep their distance (3M).
Moreover, Indrawati ensured that the domestic vaccination program would continue to be improved following a decline during Ramadhan.
