I expect such financing schemes to be applied in infrastructure development in all provinces in all corners of the country
Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) expects the Public Private Partnerships (PPP) financing scheme to be more elaborate in order to address the imbalance in developing the nation's infrastructure.

"One aspect that is not the least important is the financing model, which we expect can be applied to toll roads that combines mixed budget whether it is from ministries and state-owned enterprises, ministries, state-owned enterprises and private parties, or PPP models," the head of state noted in Jakarta, on Monday.

President Jokowi made the statement at the inauguration of six sections of the Jakarta City Inner Toll Road, the Kelapa Gading-Pulo Gebang segment. He was accompanied by Public Works and Public Housing Minister Basuki Hadimuljono, Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan, and President Commissioner of PT Jakarta Tollroad Development (JTD) Trisna Muliadi.

"Hence, we are accelerating the toll road projects that we have planned," the president remarked.

Jokowi also expects the PPP financing scheme, which entailed infrastructure provision through cooperation between the government and business entities, to be applied nationwide.

"I expect such financing schemes to be applied in infrastructure development in all provinces in all corners of the country, so that they can surmount inequality between regions and provinces in terms of infrastructure development and accelerate our connectivity," the president noted.

The 9.3-kilometer Kelapa Gading-Pulo Gebang toll road segment was part of the 31.2-kilometer stretch of the Semanan - Pulo Gebang elevated toll road, which is managed by PT Jakarta Tollroad Development (JTD) and the contractor PT Jaya Konstruksi - PT Adhi Karya (KSO), with an investment value of Rp2.05 trillion.

The toll road comprises three sections: Kelapa Gading-Pulo Gebang being section A that is 9.3 kilometers in length, Semanan-Grogol being section B spanning 9.5 kilometers, and the Grogol-Kelapa Gading being section C, with a length of 12.4 kilometers.

It is stipulated that the work to construct Section B and C will be completed by 2024.

There are six sections of the 69.77-kilometer Jakarta Inner City Toll Road, which is one of the national strategic projects in accordance with Presidential Regulation (Perpres) No. 56 of 2018.
