Pancasila students are the ones who will continue Indonesia's sustainable and equitable development in the future.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Pancasila Sanctity Day must spark reflection on matters that have contributed to and efforts that must be undertaken to make Indonesia a resilient nation now and in the future, the Education Minister has said.

"Reflecting back on the values of Pancasila today is a good start to unite our aspirations and steps forward," Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, Nadiem Anwar Makarim, said in a written statement here on Friday.



He stressed that sustainable development that aligns with the potential of natural and human resources is important.



Therefore, the commemoration of Pancasila Day is the right moment to design a new balance that promotes the progress of all community groups and prioritizes nature conservation, Makarim said.

"In this case, Pancasila will act as a starting point and a purpose for the nation's development," he added.



Makarim affirmed that the nation's awakening and development will be determined by the freedom enjoyed by Indonesian children to develop their potential.



"In accordance with their abilities and heart callings. It is our starting point," he remarked.

"Freedom in learning, working, and expressing culture can yield a generation of students who live with Pancasila values, such as lifelong learners who believe in God Almighty and are noble, live in global diversity, collaborate with each other while being independent and creative, as well as thinking critically," he added.



"Pancasila students are the ones who will continue Indonesia's sustainable and equitable development in the future," Makarim said.

The Pancasila Sanctity Day ceremony in 2021 was led by the President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), as the Inspector of Ceremonies.



The ceremony was held with the theme "Tough Indonesia Based on Pancasila".



Chairman of the Regional Representative Council, La Nyalla Mattalitti served as the reader of the Pancasila Text, chairman of the People's Consultative Assembly, Bambang Soesatyo, read the 1945 Indonesian Constitution, chairwoman of the House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, read the Pledge, and Minister of Religion, Yaqut Chollil Qoumas, conducted the ceremonial prayer.
